Bowl
I made this bowl on the wheel. It was a little bit easier than the cylender because this was my seccond project on the wheel. I used the same techniques as the cylinder except i brought the clay outwords alot more. I am happy with how mine turned out. I glazed it with low fireing glazes and it got put in the low fire kiln.
Portrait sculpture
I made a sculpture of myself. However, It doesnt really look like me. I had to make sholders a neck and a head with news paper. I then covered my creation with plastic wrap. I took little plattened balls of clay and covered the head and neck and everything. I let it dry then took the newspaper and plastic out. I then added all the features, such as the eyes, nose, mouth and hair. Then after its first firing i painted it with high fire glazes. They then got put in the high fire kiln.
Rattle
This was a fun project. I made three pinch pots. Then i had to make a few little clay balls and wrap them in news paper. I then put them inside the three pots and connected all of them by slipping and scoring the edges. I then added the details such as the scarf eyes and hats. after it was fired i painted it with high firing glazes and then it was put in the high fire kiln.
Cylinder
I made this cylinder on the wheel. It was pretty hard because this was my first time on the wheel. I kneeded the clay then put it on the wheel. Then i had to center the clay ball. It took me a long time to center it then once it was centered i started to put the hole in it. I pulled out and up untill it was a good width and length. It took me six attemps on the wheel to create one good one.
Coil Pot
This pot was verry fun. It took a long time. First you have to make a circle slab of clay. Then you have to take clay coils and wrap them up to form a pot. Each layer of coils i had to score the top. I made mine go out then curve in twords the top. I then waited for it to get fired one time. I painted it with low fire glaze and fired it in the low fire kiln.

Mug
This Mug was one of the funnest projects! We had to create a mug that had a design that was out of the ordinary. To make the shape I wraped a clay slab around a cup then took the cup out. i then put the eyes and mouth on. For the handles i formed them into ear shapes and connected them to the mug. I used low firing glazes for this pot. I like the low firing glazes alot better because the colors are acurate and its easier to paint on. I am verry happy with the way my Mug turned out.
